All About Me!

I was born in St. Andrew, Jamaica at the foot of the famed Blue Mountains, spent my childhood in Europe and my teen years in Florida. Deciding that I much preferred the Caribbean to the US, I left promptly after highschool. About four years ago, I had the *cough*mis*cough*fortune of falling deeply and madly in love with an American living in the Midwest thus I am currently a transplant in Hell (otherwise known as Ohio). We spend half the year in Ohio and the other half in Jamaica. We’re planning to move to warmer climates permanently very soon…. can you blame us?

I generally take rotten pictures so 90% of the ones you see here were taken by my very talented husband. If you like the graphics, photos and general layout of this site do drop him a line!
I am impatient, a compulsive list maker and unreasonably organized; my sock draw and spice cabinet (which are tins that I inherited) are testaments to this. I’m also fiercely loyal, love my friends and family and I’m one helluva cook.

I fiddle with my hair when I am nervous, people watch for fun and would rather read the book than see the movie. I’ve had a passport since before I could walk and a wanderlust for as long as I can remember. I’m fiercely proud of my heritage and am highly suspicious of those who do not care to know their history. I have the blood of kings and queens running through my veins and can trace my family back to Mary, Queen of Scots.
I eat a primarily raw vegan diet though I stubbornly cling to honey and my silk clothing among other things. I’m not here to force my beliefs or lifestyle on you and I don’t care if you eat meat. Have at it! I do not eat this way for ethical reasons (I think PETA are bunch of crazy money grubbers). My reasons are solely selfish (my health!). Everything else that comes with that I view as a bonus.
My husband is neither vegan or raw but happily eats what I place in front of him (cooked or not!) so I usually consider him these things by default. I love him just as he is and occasionally surprise him with a steak. I see no hypocrisy in this as I believe his choices are his own.

Despite all of this, I am still obsessed with baking a perfect baguette.

I don’t mean this to be gross… because I think this about my wife and I’m sitting her looking at her as I type this. She’s raw. But I’m always struck by the absolute and essential beauty of raw women (that means you too lol). It just amazes me and it makes me happy for the people these women touch…
Just my two cents on a little portion of life…
Awww thats not gross at all hun! And I know just what you are referring to… I know when I started eating this way the changes were immediately apparent. I became more vital and dynamic in all areas of my life (much like your wife I am sure!)
