I started by soaking a few seeds three years ago in water. One of them sprouted and grew into that 7 foot sapling you see in the pictures. You can read more about it and the four more Gala seedlings I am growing currently in this post: http://thecoconutchronicles.com/?p=64 

I would suggest you try getting apples straight from an orchard instead of a supermarket. Apples in supermarkets are routinely kept refrigerated which can compromise the delicate seeds. Good luck and keep me posted on how it goes! I&#039;d love to hear about your experiences in apple tree growing!
